Hi sibre; 2001 model and the speedometer gears are stripped? Something seriously wrong with that picture! What about all the other Savages with years of mileage? Before I accept some dealers word for something like that involving hundreds of dollars, I would take the thing apart myself and see those stripped gears with my own eyes.
